Factory Inspection: Manufacturing Process, Traceability & Pre-Shipment Checks
Factory inspection covers independent inspection activities to support quality assurance during the manufacturing of PV modules, steel mounting structures, LV panels, MV switchgear, transformers and similar energy equipment. The scope may include production line checks, material conformity, process follow-up, test witness/verification and packaging / pre-shipment controls.
Typical Inspection Scope
1) Manufacturing Process Supervision
Manufacturing steps are monitored against process flow, workmanship quality, in-process checkpoints and quality plans. Observations and verification are performed in line with critical control points (CCP) and acceptance criteria.
2) QA/QC and Nonconformity Management
Identified nonconformities (NCR) may be classified and reported. Corrective / preventive action plans can be followed up and closure verification performed, enabling systematic quality tracking throughout production.
3) Traceability Controls (MES / BOM)
Serial-number-based traceability, material lot/batch tracking, supplier information and BOM conformity can be checked. MES records may be reviewed to verify consistency between manufacturing orders (MO), batches and products. Data integrity and record consistency are assessed.
4) Test and Verification (Depending on Product)
Test processes are witnessed/verified based on the product type:
- EL / IV verification for PV modules
- Dimensional and coating checks for steel structures
- Functional checks and wiring verification for LV/MV panels
- Witnessing routine tests for transformers and primary equipment
5) Packaging and Pre-Shipment Checks
Packaging integrity is checked for palletization/crating, straps/banding, corner protectors, labeling and loading arrangement. Pre-shipment visual verification and loading photos may be used to assess transport safety.
6) Reporting
Findings are delivered in a structured report with photo evidence, serial number / batch references and action tracking. The objective is to provide transparent, traceable and evidence-based outputs for investors and project stakeholders.
